2009 Environmental Health Professional of the Year and Academic Scholarship

Nominations are now being accepted for WEHA's Environmental Health Professional of the Year Award and the WEHA Academic Scholarship.  The recipient of the Robert R. Nelson Award is determined by UW Eau Claire Environmental Health Program faculty.  Three individuals will be recognized for their respective contributions to their field of work, educational program and community.

Trust for America's Health Report -
Trust for America's Health released their report Shortchaning America's Health: A State-By-State Look at How Federal Public Health Dollars are Spent - 2008, which looks at federal public health funding on a state-by-state level.  The news release and a link to the report can be found here.

Choosing Environmental Health As A Career?

    Environmental Health is a field providing a wide variety of employement oportunities.  Trained professionals in this career provide research, technical information, inspection and consultation services for many industries and agencies.  Environmental health specialists may be employed in local, state, or federal health-releated agencies.  Others may work in food processing, occupational health, environmental monitoring firms, and insurance companies.
